How do we meet our objectives?
Representatives meet regularly for discussion, support and resolution of matters of mutual interest. See our meeting schedule here.
The club's sailing programs are structured to operate efficiently with minimal disruption to one another, while also complying with the regulations established by the King's Harbour Master Plymouth and the Civil Harbour Authorities.
Who makes the decisions?
The 19 affiliated clubs hold the authority, and the PPSA has no power beyond what is granted by the clubs' mandate in committee meetings. This encompasses directives related to:
-
Interference with the safe navigation of large vessels.
-
Minimum equipment for offshore and passage races.
-
Notification of retirements.
-
PPSA administration of the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme.
-
Exclusion zone when racing in the Cattewater.
-
Recreational Water Events Check-off List (WECOL).
-
PPSA Organised Events (PRS and Port of Plymouth Regatta).
-
PPSA Annual Sailing Programme which is included in KHM’s Water Events Diary (WED).
